Located 90 miles from Dallas and from Shreveport, Louisiana, Briar Rose is the perfect place for your gathering of friends and family. Just a half mile north of Interstate 20 and just minutes from local hotels in Lindale and Tyler, TX. Briar Rose features a beautifully designed indoor space for large groups or small dinner parties. Our main ballroom will draw you in with a floor-to-ceiling glass wall allowing views of the outdoor patio and courtyard. Our floor plan is meticulously designed to give our guests multiple possibilities to create the event of their dreams.
Our Story
Three years ago, we established Rose Hill Catering to design custom catering for our clients while also striving to offer as many services as possible to lower their planning stress. Despite that, we still faced limitations because of other venues’ restrictions. As we had a desire to serve and an unparalleled passion for every detail, we decided to create a venue of our own, where we could help our clients with all aspects of planning and make their dream day a reality. Briar Rose is the product of our dream, and it enables friends, families, and couples to come together and rejoice! Erica and Phillip Mayfield have always enjoyed great parties that create lasting memories. With thirty years of marriage and an opportunity to attend extravagant events, the couple wants to share their experiences with others by providing outstanding services at Briar Rose.
Erica Mayfield: Owner/Chef
Erica Mayfield is an experienced owner and chef who has worked in the catering and hospitality industry for more than a decade. Her professional career revolved mainly around education, where she worked as a teacher and school counselor. However, she started her journey as a private chef catering to small weddings, dinners, and corporate events, but stopped to focus more on her family and education. Her excellent work received much appreciation from venue owners and guests, which prompted her to become a certified wedding planner and designer. Erica has a strong passion for her culinary pursuits, and presently, she is expanding her culinary skills by attending training at LeCurdon Blue. Her dedication to her craft, combined with her love for serving others, continues to make her a valuable asset in the wedding industry.
Phillip Mayfield: Owner/Grillmaster
Phillip Mayfield is a man with many experiences. He has worked in diverse fields ranging from sports medicine to chief operating officer of multiple businesses. His life revolves around serving others. Phillip supports his wife’s love for cooking by perfecting his art of grilling and smoking meat. He followed his passion by assisting grill-masters at highly respected BBQ establishments, allowing him to learn different techniques and secrets of grilling. He’s continually refining his techniques of BBQ and grilling. Moreover, he is an ordained wedding officiant and is working towards obtaining his Sommelier certification.
